Search and Rescue (SAR)
Search and Rescue activities are managed through the Sheriff’s Department by a dedicated unit known as “Cook County Search and Rescue.” Members of the Hovland Fire Department can also serve on Cook County SAR. Non-SAR members have been called upon to assist SAR with emergencies with the Hovland fire district.
